Bites and Insights Webinar Series: Fluid Therapy

Microsoft Teams Webinar
04 Mar 2026,06:00 pm - 07:30 pm

Intravenous fluid therapy (IVFT) is commonly administered to hospitalised dogs and cats. There are a variety of IVFT products, including isotonic crystalloids, hypertonic crystalloids, hypotonic crystalloids, synthetic colloids, and natural colloids.

These should be thought of as drugs, each with their own indications, contraindications, doses, and required monitoring. Whilst balanced isotonic crystalloids, such as lactated Ringer’s solution, are the mainstay of small animal IVFT, other products should be considered for specific indications.

Join Dr Corrin Boyd as he discusses the variety of fluid therapy products available to ECC vets.
