SASH Adelaide opened in November 2021and provides the South Australian community with gold standard 24-hour emergency supported by an ICU with 3 critical care specialists along with a host of referral services including surgery, medicine, neurology, oncology, dermatology, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, with cardiology (from early 2026). The Surgery Internship:
The SASH Adelaide team has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Surgery Intern to join the team. The successful applicant will assist our surgeons, nurses and support team to ensure patients and clients get the best care possible. This position will allow access to a varied case load over a 12-month period. You will have responsibilities in surgical assisting, post operative patient care, client communications, and record keeping. We are proud that SASH Adelaide Interns in several disciplines have gone on to secure residency positions.
About You:
We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic vet with a thirst to learn and expand their surgery knowledge in a multi-specialty hospital. To be considered for a position, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Value a hospital culture of inclusivity, empathy and teamwork
- A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
- Current registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board (VPB) of SA OR degree that is registerable with VPB SA
- Completion of rotating internship would be highly desirable but is not essential
- Be enrolled or have passed in MANZCVS (or equivalent) in surgery would be highly desirable but is not essential.
