In Adelaide we offer a 24-hour emergency and critical care service together with services in internal medicine, surgery, neurology, dermatology, radiology and physiotherapy/rehabilitation. We have plans to add oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology and other specialties too. Our Adelaide facility was built with the needs of our team in mind. You will have access to the brand-new Intensive Care Unit, full service in-house lab, Ultrasound, CT scanner, MRI, digital radiography, three theatres including an interventional radiology space, laparoscopy, endoscopy, and more.
The Internship
This prestigious program will provide you with an opportunity to work alongside our experienced specialists and emergency clinicians, providing care to our patients and their families. This program offers a structured learning opportunity, providing you access to a varied case load, advanced equipment and imaging facilities, and the support of the wider SASH team. Clinical shifts will be primarily in our intensive care unit working alongside our criticalists in addition to our experienced emergency clinicians and highly skilled nursing team. SASH Adelaide is a state-of-the-art facility with a purpose-built emergency room and intensive care unit to be able to provide exceptional care to our patients. This includes availability of in-house diagnostics, blood bank, mechanical ventilation, high flow oxygen, oxygen cages and more, with collaborative specialist support across departments.
You will be encouraged to have primary case responsibility to maximize learning and growth during the program. You will also have the opportunity participate in journal club, ER physiology rounds and other didactic opportunities offered both onsite and across the SASH network. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
About You
We are looking for passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic vets with a thirst to learn. This is a challenging program and will require you to have an adaptable and proactive approach to situations. To be considered for a position, you will need to demonstrate the following:

To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Tertiary qualified Veterinarian with a minimum of 2 years clinical practice experience. Emergency experience will be viewed favourably
- Current registration.
