Click here to watch the recording Presenter Dr Jane Jones will be discussing this topical and important cultural issue, Experiences of Māori veterinarians and veterinary nurses in the veterinary sector in Aotearoa/New Zealand. About the presenter: My name is Jane Jones, and I am a companion animal veterinarian based in Christchurch. While I enjoy applying my dermatology knowledge in practice, (an area I pursued as an area of interest) over the last few years, I've embarked on a new learning journey. This began with a commitment to learning te reo through Te Wananga o Aotearoa and has progressed to becoming a researcher, supported by Otago Polytechnic School of Veterinary Nursing and Francesca Brown. I will be discussing this four-year research journey and providing insights into a qualitative research paper that is currently in its final editing stages. The paper is entitled: "Experiences of Māori veterinarians and veterinary nurses in the veterinary sector in Aotearoa/New Zealand." I will also share some of the personal experiences this research has afforded me, along with some of its key findings. I am hoping that this session can be an interactive conversation and you will be welcome to throw me your questions. |
