The Opportunities

We’re offering separate, discipline-specific, 12-month internships in: Medicine, High Dependency Unit (acute & critical care), Surgery, Anaesthesia and Dentistry.

Start dates are flexible through 2025, with all programs commencing no later than mid-January 2026.

Here’s the best bit — most of our residencies are offered to our interns, so your internship can naturally progress into the next step of your specialist training, right here at Animalius.

What You’ll Experience

  • Dentistry – Support our clinicians, residents and nurses in delivering advanced dental and oral surgery care.
  • HDU – Be hands-on with acute and critical patients, working closely with medicine specialists and our incredible nursing team.
  • Anaesthesia – Work alongside specialist anaesthetists across all departments, with plenty of opportunity to run cases under supervision.
  • Medicine – Partner with clinicians and nurses on complex cases, supporting patients, clients and referring vets.
  • Surgery – Jump into our surgical team and learn specialist-level care in a truly supportive environment.

Hours

Our hospital is open 8am–6pm for visiting clients and patients.

Staffing hours vary between 7:30am and 6pm, with evening and overnight shifts running between 8–10 hours in duration.

  • Medicine, Dentistry & Anaesthesia – 4-day week, Monday to Friday (between 7:30am–6pm)
  • HDU & Surgery – rotating roster including days, evenings, and overnight shifts
  • Closed weekends and public holidays
